BAD AXE — The Huron Technical Center recently announced its student of the month recipient for September.
Students are selected based on a variety of criteria including: achievement in career technical education, outstanding attendance, enrollment status, CTE-related extracurricular activities, on-the-job-training placements, work experience, and future CTE program-related education and/or employment plans.
Jared Gehring is the HATC student of the month for September. He is a senior at Harbor Beach High School and is a student in the power technology program. Gehring is an active member in FFA.
He is an exceptional student; a leader in the power technology class and was a contributing member of the innovative vehicle design team for the Huron Intermediate School District. Gehring is the son of Rhonda and Joe Gehring. He plans to attend a post-secondary trade school to learn additional skills that will help him in a career as an industrial technician.
Gehring will be honored during a luncheon at the Main Street Café, located inside the Huron Area Technical Center, and receive a certificate of award.
