Dow Opens at Record High As Others Follow Upward Trend

A month-long rally on Wall Street has propelled the Dow to a record high.
Other market indexes, including the small cap Russell 2000, also hit record highs.
Although the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite did not follow the trend, their opening figures on Dec. 8th were slightly below their record highs.
One senior trader with an assets management firm stated the market place is projecting more confidence in future growth.
But the primer may rest with the presidential election, as investors are betting on shares from industrial and financial sectors.
Those sectors are expected to benefit the most from President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed policies of investing in infrastructure and simplifying regulations.
